Privacy Policy

Transportation Craft is a building game for young children. We keep as little about you as we can: no ads, no tracking, and nothing sold or shared for marketing. This page says what we keep, why, and how to have it deleted. Transportation Craft is run by Khaloosoft LLC ("we", "us").

Playing without an account

The island and the settings are kept in the browser you play in, on your own device. Nothing about you or your child is sent to us for them. Each time the game starts, our server counts it, as a plain number (and whether the browser has played before): it never keeps who.

Our website counts how many times its pages are visited with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't follow anyone from site to site.

With an account

An account keeps:

• your email address, to sign in with, and to send you the emails below;
• your password, scrambled (hashed) so nobody can read it, not even us;
• the name shown in the game, which you choose (a first name or a nickname is best);
• your islands, and when they were last played;
• if you sign in with Google, the id of your Google account (Google tells us your name and email too: we use the name as your name in the game to start with);
• when the account was made and changed, and a record of where it's signed in (a cookie, and when it was made), so it stays signed in.

We send email only about the account: a welcome when it's made, a link to set a new password when it's asked for (it works for 60 minutes), a link to confirm a new email address, and a note when the password or the email changes. We never send marketing email. When an account is made, we tell ourselves too: the name in the game, the email, and whether it was made with Google.

The game server counts, each day, how many accounts play and how long the online islands are played: plain numbers, never who. To count each account only once a day, it keeps a scrambled mark for each one that played that day, which can't be matched up with another day's, and is replaced by the next day's.

Playing with friends

Playing on an island with others, the server gets the name, where the player is and what they're wearing, and everything built and written there, to show it to the others on that island. On the online islands, which are open to everyone with an account, each player is shown by their account's name. There's no chat, and the words others write are hidden unless a grown-up turns them on in Options.

Cookies

There's one cookie to keep you signed in, and two short-lived ones (gone within 15 minutes) while signing in with Google. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. The game keeps your island and settings in the browser's own storage.

Who else handles it

We don't sell or give away anything about you. To run the game, a few companies handle it for us, only to do that:

• Cloudflare, which serves the website and passes requests on to our game server;
• Linode (Akamai), whose servers run our game server and its database;
• Amazon Web Services and ImprovMX, which send our emails;
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our players.

Children

Transportation Craft is made for young children, and they can play all of it except the online islands without an account, sharing nothing about themselves. An account needs an email address: we recommend a parent's, and that parents make the account with their children. We use the email only for the account, as above.

Parents can see and change what an account keeps on its account page, and delete it at any time. If you think a child has made an account without a parent's permission, or you'd like us to tell you what we keep or delete it for you, email us (below) and we will.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep an account and its islands until it's deleted. Delete your account from your account page (or ask us to) and the account, its islands and where it was signed in are removed from our database straight away. Emailed links are kept only until they're used or run out. The day's counts are only numbers, with nothing about anyone in them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here, with the date at the top.
